As an author and illustrator of books for children, I know that kids’ stories can be grand and impossible or small and probable. Characters could be funny or frightening; the locations exotic or everyday. But the best stories for kids always seem to come with a message of hope: no matter what happens, it’s all good. Also, charming artwork never hurt. :) I’m a native New Englander; I live in the Boston area with my family. (This is a huge plus because my favorite food is Clam Chowder and there’s always Clam Chowder to be had in Boston. Mmm...CLAMS!) During most days, I am an art director. Which is a short way of saying I direct art. Sometimes its like herding cats, but most of the time I get to work with brilliant illustrators and designers from whom I learn every day.
